§ 68-1. Intent and purpose.

It is the intent and purpose of this chapter to adopt a modern Building Code, which will prescribe minimum effective standards and minimum life safety requirements for the construction, alteration, repair and occupancy of buildings and structures in the City of Sunbury and to provide informed and professional administration, plan review and inspection of the provisions so adopted. By observing the standards so prescribed, all persons involved in building plan review and inspection and in building design, construction, repair and maintenance shall contribute to the enhancement of life and protection of property.
